What happened to status message on yahoo messenger?

Every time I want to write in something on my status message it limits me up to 40 characters. I know this because I looked it up on C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Cache and opened with notepad the file system.xml . I was looking through it and got to a point where it said: server%26gt;

%26lt;max_custom_status%26gt;40%26lt;/max_custom_stat...

%26lt;/server%26gt; (which basically shows me that i can't write more than 40 characters).

What can I do about this, how can I fix it?

What happened to status message on yahoo messenger?
You cannot change it; yahoo had created a limit probably because so many abused the status message by using it as a place to send a message to many people at once rather than single ims.
Reply:PLEASE dont do anything rash as to download and execute anything for the moment to fix it...

If it needs fixing. let Yahoo! do it.

or you can... MANUALLY... if we know how.

DONT download EXE files from untrusted sources.

Some bloggers do them for you to visit their sites.

We may not know what they do exactly.

This is quite a hangup.

But i think Yahoo!'s working on it.

I think!

I guess this is Yahoo!'s move to fight the worm/virus that's utilizing the status message.

It is unannounced so that the worm makers cant do a thing about it and stop it's circulation.

It's a pain in the a$$ but we all know it's for the good of all Yahoo! Messenger users.

let's just wait and see... and hope that they put it back to what it used to...

i miss sharing my "long" stat quotes with my friends.
