I'm working on my PC using Windows XP Home, and just recently I suddenly got a blue screen saying that an error had occurred and my computer was beginning a memory dump. I didn't manage to note down the specifics of the error, but on restarting I had a popup saying that 'The system has recovered from a serious error.' It says the files to be included in the report are:
C:\DOCUME~1\JONNYA~1\Temp\WER35ce.dire...
C:\DOCUME~1\JONNYA~1\Temp\WER35ce.dire...
Sorry I can't provide any more information. Does it sound like I could have a big problem here?
Thanks.
Computer crashed: what's wrong?
It could be any number of things varying from a virus to bad hardware. Try starting it in "safe" mode. If you can get your computer to start immediately backup all of your important files.
I'd suggest a clean re-install. If it still happens after that then go to Start-%26gt;Settings-%26gt;Control Panel-%26gt;Administrative Tools-%26gt;Event Viewer.
Look at the "System" logs from this point and it may indicate your problem. If this persists the most common problem is the hard drive.
Reply:judging by the files you have listed, odds on a virus as they are in temp files!!!
Reply:Try doing a system restore to yesterday or before it happened, takes 5 mins and it should be fine.
Reply:What you experienced is commonly known as the Blue Screen of Death which indicates that you are using XP. There are many solutions to fixing this problem. The best way is to go to www.microsoft.com and in the Search bar type in
blue screen of death and then click onto the appropiate link[s]
Reply:Watch out for those who are trying to hack into your computer thank you always new viruses are coming up
Reply:Have a look in Event Viewer for an Application error that occured around the time of the crash.
Double click Administrative Tools in Control Panel and select Event Viewer. Double click on the Error in the Aplications section.
