What does this say about liberal objectives?

What is the real underlying news about the fighting in Basra; Iraq?
B. I think it is very telling on how much the Surge has worked...the Iraqi Army fighting for it's self...that is great...
Reply:The people who live there are sick and tired of having foreigners interrupting the civil war that's been brewing there for centuries. I say we leave and let them all kill each other, if that's what they want to do.
Reply:It is actually a movement afoot to cause a disruption in the peace process because the democrats keep saying they want to cut and run, but with the surge working they are not getting any traction. So the Mahdi would like to mount a short offensive to affect American Politics much like the Tet offensive of 1968 did to the anti war movement of Vietnam.
Reply:The reason there was a bit of quiet for a time is Al Sadr had pulled back. Now he isn't. So the working surge was no more than smoke. I don't feel it reflects on the military at all. It does, once again reflect on the foolishness of this administration.
Reply:I wholeheartedly agree with Holbrook and I hope that the Iraqi government prevails in this skirmish.
